To celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Ridenhour Prizes, please join us for a panel discussion immediately following the awards luncheon. This conversation will feature a selection of our past winners who will reflect on the history of whistleblowing, the consequences of speaking truth to power, and will make the case for strengthening open government laws.
Speakers will include:
Matthew Hoh: Former State Department official and the 2010 recipient of The Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling who resigned in protest from his post in Afghanistan.
Nick Turse: Recipient of the special Ridenhour Prize for Reportorial Distinction and the author of the investigative exposé Kill Anything That Moves: The Real American War in Vietnam.
J. William Leonard: Former director of the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO).
Thomas Drake: 2011 recipient of The Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling and the senior NSA official who exposed massive fraud, waste, and abuse.
