Join Nation Books author Dr. Ibram X. Kendi at the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center on Tuesday, June 6th for a discussion of his National Book Award–winning Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. Kendi will be joined in conversation by Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad, author of The Condemnation of Blackness.
In Stamped from the Beginning, Kendi chronicles the development of anti-Black racist ideas, shedding light on their staggering power over the course of American history. Kendi is the winner of the 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction and is an assistant professor of African American History at the University of Florida. An intellectual and social movement Africana studies historian, Kendi studies racist and antiracist ideas and movements.
Following the discussion there will be a book signing.
