Join Nation Books author Jill Filipovic at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC on Thursday, May 11th to discuss her new book, The H-Spot: The Feminist Pursuit of Happiness.
In this fresh look at what women want, Filipovic, a lawyer turned award-winning journalist, interviewed women across the country and found that the answer is simple: women want the chance to pursue happiness. While enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, this is not a right equally accorded to everyone, and Filipovic argues that we must demand public policies that guarantee women’s access to equal pay, child care, and other essentials that will allow them the same opportunity for achievement that men have. A blogger at Feministe, senior political writer for Cosmopolitan, and regular contributing writer for the New York Times, Filipovic shows how feminism needs to make the system work for women.
