Ann Jones
  • Ann Jones is an authority on violence against women. She is a journalist, photographer and the author of eight books of nonfiction, most recently, They Were Soldiers: How the Wounded Return from America's Wars: The Untold Story (Dispatch Books 2013). Her other books include War Is Not Over When It's Over (2010), an account of the impact of war on women Kabul in Winter (2006), based on her experiences working as a humanitarian volunteer in Afghanistan; and Women Who Kill (1980), republished recently by the Feminist Press as a Contemporary Feminist Classic. She still travels periodically to Afghanistan and reports on developments there for The Nation and TomDispatch.
